Meet the Founders: In 2013, Emily and I found ourselves working in rural Ghana, where we were introduced to the remarkable moringa tree. NGOs were encouraging farmers to cultivate moringa for its exceptional nutritional benefits, but these farmers had no way to access the market or earn a living from their crops. Returning to our labs at MIT, we discovered a way to cold-press the moringa seeds into a sustainable beauty oil that outperforms argan, jojoba, and shea. And so, True Moringa was born, with the mission of adding value and creating jobs for small family farmers in Ghana.

Care for our Planet: Today, we work with over 5,000 small farming families in Ghana, and have planted more than two million moringa trees to combat deforestation and malnutrition locally. From our farms, the seeds are transported to our processing center in Accra, where we create 90 non-farm jobs along our supply chain. The seeds are carefully sorted, shelled, cold-pressed, and filtered in a heat-controlled environment.

We guarantee a market for 100% of their moringa produce, ensuring income and food security for their families, even during the dry season.
